Building Sustainable Fisheries Through Collaboration with Donor Money and Koperasi Nelayan Samata Padakkau.
The Samata Padakkau Fishermen Producer Cooperative, based in Mola Bahari Village, Southeast Sulawesi, harnessed the power of Donor Money to build a vital fishing boat for their community. This boat will become a cornerstone of sustainable fishing practices, directly benefiting three local fishermen groups: the Sanggeh Kami, Shining Tuna, and Mitra Sunu Fishermen Groups. Specializing in tuna and reef fisheries, these groups play a crucial role in preserving the marine ecosystem while ensuring a steady source of income for their members.

🌱 Empowering Youth Through Climate Education
With proceeds from Donor Money sales, Green Initiative Kakuma successfully conducted 7 climate adaptation virtual training sessions between July 2, 2024, and September 26, 2024.
These sessions provided essential climate education to 67 youth from the Kakuma community, preparing them for sustainable futures.
Donor Money helped cover the cost of internet data bundles to ensure these young leaders could participate without barriers.
🌾 Supporting Local Farmers
Proceeds also helped facilitate better communication between Green Initiative Kakuma and local farming groups.
Purchased a feature phone for the Nakoyo smallholder farmers group representative. This ensures that vital updates and resources flow seamlessly between the organization and the farmers they support.
